Description
The Brothers is a twin peak formation in Washington's Olympic Mountain range. It is located in "The Brothers Wilderness" just south of Olympic National Park.
In 1856, surveyor George Davidson named these mountains in honor of Ellinor Fauntleroy's two brothers. He named the southern peak Mount Edward and northern peak Mount Arther. Ellinor must've been impressed; she later became his wife.
This image was taken from Cougar Mountain, about 40 miles to the east.
